The Gratis is an independent publishing collective exploring creative life beyond consumption.
As part of the collective, I contributed to the first issue of Free Range Chicken, a self-initiated magazine centred around the idea of “solitude without spending” — documenting alternative forms of leisure, quiet rituals, and everyday experiences outside commercial culture.
Combining illustration, editorial experimentation, and community-based storytelling, the publication transformed ordinary moments into playful visual essays. The project was distributed freely through independent bookstores and accompanied by public talks and workshops.
